Yusuke just hit 1k, Nagisa hit 3k, Alphonse hit 18k at some point and I haven't done one of these in FOREVER so here goes!! Penance for all the times I've commented to someone else's and then flaked out on giving a reverse.

Date: 2014-09-23 01:19 am (UTC)Yusuke is a moron who has trouble socializing with people his own age if they don't have a love of PUNCHING THINGS in common/aren't caught up in something he's dealing with and end up along for the ride. He's getting better BUT he's especially bad with girls and tends to flip between being kind of a dick and randomly being pretty okay and chill, and then flips back to being kind of a dick if anybody points that out. It doesn't help that he's a little baffled about why Jade would want to keep talking to him, since he spent most of his life being AGGRESSIVELY AVOIDED by people and it doesn't seem like she's getting anything out of it. He tends to bicker and overreact and say things that are the dumbest which causes more bickering and he totally thinks this is a normal way to interact with girls, whoops!! BUT at the same time, whatever weird petty and vinegar-filled friendship-ish thing he and Jade have going feels familiar and comfortable, which WHILE HE WOULD NEVER EVER ADMIT IT is kind of nice. He's slowly making more of a conscious effort to be a little more careful around her because 1) they're not super close and he doesn't want things to get weird, and 2) she seems less emotionally sturdy than the women he's used to dealing with and WHAT IF HE MAKES HER CRY jesus christ
Also she made him cookies, whaaat! He's half wondering if he should warn her that his buddy from home who just showed up is massively unfriendly and she shouldn't bother trying to talk to him, but eh it'll probably work out. He briefly considered telling her never to mention the cookies to Hiei but that would've given her BLACKMAIL AMMO so he's just going to hope Hiei is enough of a dick that if they ever do meet, he scares Jade off immediately. what a good friend

Date: 2014-09-28 12:59 am (UTC)Jade is super, super unsure about Yusuke and where exactly they stand and what exactly she'd quantify their relationship as. She'd say they were friends-ish? Jade at first threw him into the category of complete asshole with Ike, but Jade even puts up with Ike's nonsense, and Yusuke does have his moments of nice-ness, so IT IS ALL VERY CONFUSING. She's willing to give him a chance definitely and can see them possibly becoming friends if he can resist his asshole urges. Jade is weird, in that she gives people a lot of chances and despite her terrible attitude about a lot of things, she really does try to see the best in people (which is why in canon she's the only character yet to have a real conversation with Ike).
Jade's also been going through a lot and has lost a lot of important people lately and she's kind of withdrawn into herself and isn't putting herself out there as much. She's not actively looking for friends or connections at the moment, but the thing she has with Yusuke, whatever it is, is oddly familiar and she can roll with it. It's actually better than INSTANT FRIENDSHIP because Jade would be super wary about starting something like that, but if Yusuke is someone she can argue with and not get too attached to, she is totally down for that. (though, this is Jade and she'll probably end up getting attached. she'll probably also end up punching him at some point). The death stuff is also something Jade wants to learn more about, but she doesn't want to push it yet.
SO YEAH, Jade thinks Yusuke is all right when he's not trying to be an asshole and has possible friend potential, but she's also just happy to bicker with him and make sure he at least knows how to text people. I AM SUPER EXCITED TO SEE WHERE THEIR CR GOES!
